District-wide Closure for Friday, November 6th

District-wide Closure for Friday,  November 6th

Dear A-Town Community,

As of today, November 5th, the number of positive cases is growing in the district, Today we have been notified of two additional positives linked to previous positive cases.  With Knox County climbing towards a high mark in positivity rates and the district experiencing multiple COVID Positive cases across all buildings, the entire district will transition to Remote Learning for Friday, November 6th. The timing of this closure is helpful due to the two additional days off with the weekend. As of this moment, our planned return to in-person date is Monday, November 9th. We will be working with our local health departments over the weekend, if cases continue to escalate and/or our close contact quarantine list continues to grow, our return to in-person date may change. Please make sure that you have downloaded (or updated) the D276 Mobile App to receive school related information as soon as possible. Additionally, the most recent version of the IDPH COVID-19 Exclusion Chart can be found at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws...

For In-person learners, tomorrow’s remote learning will mirror the in-person schedule.

In closing, the district can only stay open as long as the virus is under control, and the current trendline in the county and the district is not favorable. It is important that our school community practice the 3 W's: Wear your mask (properly), Watch your distance (Being within 6 feet for 15 or more cumulative minutes, with or without a mask will make you a close contact ), and Wash your hands.

Respectfully,
Dr. Curry
