Hedding 5th grade students, Branson Thomas and Cora Thomas organized a fundraiser at Hedding to raise money to buy a new bike and helmet for 1st grade student, Neiko O'Neal, who was struck by a truck crossing the highway just two weeks ago. We are all so thankful for his quick recovery and the outpouring of support from our students and staff.

It has been stated from IDPH and the CDC that temperature checks are no longer needed. Our Board of Education has approved that to become our daily practice. Starting today, Thursday, March 11th, 2021, we will no longer be completing temperature checks. Bus monitors and door monitors will continue to check for badges. Please make sure your child(ren) wears their lanyard and symptoms badge everyday as an indication that you, their parent, is certifying that your child(ren) does not have any of the listed symptoms. We will issue temporary badges and lanyards to those students who have lost the one that was issued earlier in the school year. IDPH has also put into writing new guidelines for symptoms of COVID. Congestion, runny nose, and abdominal pain have been removed from the list of symptoms. As always if your child is feeling ill, please do not send him/her to school.

There will be no afternoon Sped services this Fri. 3/12 due to the early dismissal & Mon. 3/12 due to a mandatory Sped meeting.

In light of the Board of Education's decision to continue with the current 12:30 dismissal for the rest of the school year, student who are currently remote learners will be given the option to return to school on Monday, March 8 by calling Hedding at 462-2363 and letting Mrs. Robinson or Mrs. Cudd know. Otherwise remote learners' next option for return will be Tuesday, April 6 after Spring Break.

Hedding is excited to announce the return of our “Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser.” This fundraiser was very successful with student participation in the past and we are hoping this year to reach or surpass our goal of $6,000. The proceeds raised will go into our Hedding Student Activity Fund which is used ONLY FOR STUDENTS to purchase supplies and extra resources to help make learning fun. Attached you will see the Popcorn Shop Brochure and inside the brochure you will find an order form along with an envelope to return back to the Hedding Office no later than Monday, March 22.
Also, we are happy to announce that students and their participants (buyers) may shop the popcorn online with this link:
https://my.perfectpastries.biz/signup/9WRD.
The link may also be found on the Hedding Grade School Facebook page. Shopping the online link gives participants two different types of popcorn brands to purchase along with two different shipping options; 1)Poppin’ Popcorn; and/or 2) Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn. Please remember, if participants order online, this option requires online payment only. The office cannot take money/order forms for online orders. Therefore, Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn is shipped directly to the participant’s address whereas Poppin’ Popcorn will be shipped directly to Hedding Grade School with a pick-up date to be announced.
We hope everyone will participate in this delicious popcorn fundraiser! For each bag sold of Poppin’ Popcorn, 50% goes back to Hedding. For those students who participate, prizes will be awarded and you can find the incentive prize sheet on the back of the order form or the popcorn link. Also, a top seller and top class for each week will be awarded. Stay safe and remember to only sell to immediate family members and close friends!
