Due to the increased number of shuttles that come in and out of AAMS, the yellow gates remain open during pick-up; however, vehicles are pulling up too close to drop-off locations. Please see the attached image for clarification on parking.
AAMS students dismiss at 2:55. HGS shuttles arrive around 3:20. AAHS shuttles arrive at 3:25. We ask that anyone picking up their students who ONLY ride an HGS or AAHS shuttle do not arrive before 3:10 to keep parking lot congestion to a minimum.
Thank you!

Congratulations to our 2025 Homecoming Court!
Freshmen Attendants: Nevaeh Clewell and Cooper Stephens
Sophomore Attendants: Josie Featherlin and Collin Jennings
Junior Attendants: Jocelyn Camp and Carson Steele

How lucky are we with community workers like these? 🍕 La Roma’s Grandmi came by Begindergarten to tell us all about owning a pizzeria and the hard work it takes to create delicious food. Abingdon and Avon is full of such wonderful people who provide services to us every day.

Reminder - Early Dismissal Sept 24th

Our community worker Ashley Anderson keeps our neighborhood full of smiles. Florist keep our world blooming with kindness. 🌷💐

Mrs. Mason, our school counselor came to visit today. She will come once a month to meet with our class. She told us about her family and what she does as a school counselor. Then we played a game and decided of what the card said was something s a counselor does or doesn’t do. The class did a great job listening to her! We can’t wait for her to come back next month!

HOMECOMING REMINDER: If your organization wants a spot in the Homecoming Parade, we need to know by Friday, September 26th. Please call the high school office at 309-462-2338 and ask for Mindy Pugh.

Libraries are a “community” treasure to all. 📚

HGS Homecoming Dress Up Days Sept 29th - Oct 3rd

Mrs. Long’s class won the “Go for the GREEN” Reflex competition for having the most green light days for the last two weeks. They won the Reflex traveling trophy.

This week In Begindergarten, students are learning all about the word “community”. A community is a place full of people who work together, learn together, and keep each other safe. Thea Hobby from the Abingdon Post Office came in for a visit to teach us all about the very important role postman and postwoman play in your community.
